The Council is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Society. It consists of up to 14 members, including the President, Vice-President (President-Elect), Secretary, Treasurer, and elected general members. Council members serve two-year terms, with rotation encouraged to ensure renewal. The Council oversees finances, administration, and governance of the Society, hosts the biennial symposium, and represents South Africa in international bodies such as IAHS and SACNASP. Council may also co-opt members for specific purposes. All Council members must be paid-up members of the Society, committed to advancing hydrology science, practice, and capacity in South Africa.
